Picture it like this: you’re sitting on your couch wearing your warmest pjs, you’re wrapped in the coziest blanket and you have your favorite show DVR-ed. Before you hit that play button, you take your first sip of your freshly-brewed hot coffee. Ahhh, heaven. So, what is it about this perfect morning that makes it so blissful? The cup of coffee, duh. There is just something about that first sip that makes everything right with the world.
Coffee just lifts my spirits. If I am cold, it warms me up and if I am hot, an iced coffee cools me down. Believe it or not, coffee actually helps me calm down, too. The smell itself is so comforting to me that the scent alone is enough to calm my entire soul.
Conversations over coffee are always better. What a trend, right? I think coffee dates and ‘meeting up for coffee’ is a tradition that is here to stay. I find that people tend to open up more and get more personal with a warm cup of coffee sitting in front of them. It’s definitely a conversational beverage of love and understanding.
I love coffee for the most obvious and common reason as well: it perks me up! It’s my morning energy boost and my afternoon pick-me-up. I don’t think that I could get through my day without my morning coffee. By 9:30am, I start getting a headache…can you say addicted?
To be honest, I actually love the taste, too. I will drink my coffee anyway. Black, light and sweet, flavors, hot, iced, etc. You name it, I like it. You make it, I will drink it.
Exploring and discovering new coffee shops and different secret spots is always a fun adventure. If I can discover a new place to support or a local business/family-run coffee shop and enjoy a great latte, I am all for it.
I even go out of my way to get it, too. If I am out and about shopping or running errands, I will drive out of my way to grab a coffee. If my husband and I are craving Starbucks in the morning before work, we will drive 10 minutes there and 10 minutes back just for a cup. Want to know the really crazy part? We live only three minutes from work. About one mile! Yes, we leave our house 20-25 minutes earlier than we need to just for Starbucks. That is true love.
Whether it is the smell, the taste, the honest conversations or company, the caffeine boost or the cozy atmosphere, I love coffee.
xoxo
